Love Marriage Or Arranged Marriage.

Love Marriage Or Arranged Marriage?

Well. This question is highly amusing in Western societies where most of the or almost all the marriages are love marriages. But the case is different in oriental countries where the system of the family is very orthodox or based on false notions. Often a girl is not allowed to go anywhere alone, for her protection her brother is sent along with her. I find no fault in sisterly brotherly love and even it’s not wrong in doing so when the societies’ attitudes or wrong notions are similar as well. When she attains the age of assent if she loves someone it’s a great blunder. The parents get highly tensed. Well, obviously, bluntly I don’t understand what is wrong in love marriages. Of course teenage love arises often ‘cause of the attraction to opposite sex. But an adult love, where there’s mutual understanding, mutual trust, mutual respect and mutual friendship and the couple is authentic in their love I find no reason to resist this kind of love. But if the lovers are keeping the affair stealthily from their parents I don’t have much appreciation towards that love. In stating love I mean a kind of love affair with the parental approval. Even an advanced kind of love is say two people meet, they fall in love, they don’t express it, they split and after waiting for 5 years they get married. This is called divine love. People argue this kind of love is impractical. But in this example the girl and the boy got married eventually. That’s called destiny. In this example if those destiny was marrying someone else it might have occurred without marrying the same one. While even destiny is not something destined. The destiny is based on vibrations. If you stay and wait with love and patience it’ll come into a reality ‘cause it’s those vibrations which works out. There’s nothing called destiny. Destiny can be changed on behalf of personal effort.

So I request from the parents of this world most particularly parents of oriental countries like India and SriLanka that there’s nothing wrong in a kind of love I’ve mentioned and bless your kids for a happy life ahead!!!

Buddhism, A Peaceful Religion.

Buddhism, A Peaceful Religion.

Buddhism is a peaceful and beautiful religion. At times if we think this kind of religion is very easy to follow it is ‘cause of the simple teachings of Buddhism. There are eight noble principles or noble Eightfold Truth which should be followed by a monk in Buddhism.  The eight principles are seeing the good things ( Samyak Dhrushti), good motivation ( Samyak Sangalpa), good truth( Samyak Vak), good acts( Samyak Karma), good life( Samyak Ajeeva), good motivation (Samyak Viyamam), good notions( Samyak Smirthi) or in other words right speech, right action and right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right concentration, right understanding, and right thought.

Firstly seeing the good things is seeing the positive of all good things and also analyzing everything and accepting the good things, and knowing all things by its characteristics as it is, is called Samak Dhrushti. Secondly Samyak Vak includes speaking good things, especially abstaining from speaking lies, abstaining from speaking ill of others especially in the person’s absence, abstaining from speaking harsh words and abstaining from unwanted words. A person who follows Samyak Vak should be absent from all blemishes and should spread happiness and encouragement to all others. Thirdly good acts or good deeds, one should avoid deeds which creates evil results and should prefer deeds which creates good results. Fourthly Samyak Ajeeva, when one is doing a job he shouldn’t hurt anyone or should abstain from bad deeds or deeds which creates disturbance or sorrows to others and he’d prefer deeds creates good results and also one should be selfless ‘cause selifish life is animal like. Fifthly, good motivation, which means good thoughts or good seeds of thoughts. Some say the reasons for our sufferings are fate, some say ‘cause of god’s intention, some say they occur without any reason. If there’s lust in our mind we’ll suffer. We become of what we imagine. If there are bad thoughts in our mind our words and actions will be blemished. So one should be aware of one’s inner thoughts or inner enemies ‘cause enemies are not outside. If there’s good thoughts in our mind that is a friendly thought and if there are evil thoughts in our mind that is a perilous thought. And next, cne should not waver on seeing happiness, for instance, on meditating many powers will be gotten. Without considering these happiness one should aim at salvation( I guessed this ‘cause this is said in Hinduism). Further one who knows the nature of him and one who knows the nature of others and acts accordingly his nature is connected with the nature of nature. This is called Samyak Samadhi.

Well. There are mainly two kinds of Buddhism in the world: Theravada Buddhism also called “Great Vehicle”, which is followed in countries like Sri Lanka, Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia and parts of South East Asia, and Mahayana Buddhism, which is followed in countries like Tibet, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and parts of Northern East Asia. Also there are differences between Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism. Theravada Buddhism is connected with silent or mindful meditation while Mahayana Buddhism is connected with mantras and chanting. Mahayana Buddhism suggests that the Bodhisatvas delay their realization and stay in samsara to help other struggling humans while Theravada Buddhism emphasizes the enlightenment of Bodhisatvas before releasing other souls who’re in samsara. In Mahayana Buddhism Bodhisatvas have greater prominence. Theravada Buddhism places greater emphasis on “Arhat”, liberation or Nirvana. In Mahayana Buddhism the role of Bodhisathva path is given prominence.

Thus Buddhism has it's own doctrines and there are two main branches of Buddhism as aforesaid.

Lanka, Lanka, I love You.

Lanka, Lanka, I Love You!!!

I do not want to be alone but I do want to be aloof. It is highly necessary in this perilous world to be aloof from certain activities. Our Tamils’ educational activities are intentionally curbed using certain blithering techniques. Recently we read a news in the news paper that our province rates last in O/L results. Is it ‘cause our students are indulging in unwanted activities and killing their time unnecessarily and voluntarily. No. Definetely not. Our youths’ educational activities are intentionally curbed using the weapon of drugs. Today drugs is distributed in school entrances. It is during former president Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa’s period the drugs were intentionally spread over in Northern and Eastern provinces. It is their terrible reign that created deft sword thrusts and robbery in our provinces. If they don’t punish these activities our people will be spoiled and ultimately our society will fall down. Their plan worked out well. The aftermaths of former intrigues are still prevalent in our society. Personally, I’m not a supporter of LTTE, Liberation Tigers Of Tamil Ealam, instead I’m a mediator who sees the pros and cons of each side without taking any side. It’s notable that during LTTE’s period no Harishnavi was raped, no Vidya was raped. But it is also highly blithering attacking the religious places, using humans as human bombs and engaging children in military activities. The present government’s activities regarding our issue are commendable but then again a certain kind of bias can be seen. Activities should be taken considering Tamils as their sisters and brothers, they should consider Tamils as a fellow ethnicity and acitivities should be taken. Then the efforts will be much more successful. But I see that bright dawn, when Tamils ans Sinhalese are holding their hands with love as sisters and brothers and as friends as I see this very earth!!!

Om Sri Sai Ram!!!
